Biden Tried To Deliver Hurricane Aid To Texas But Greg Abbott Vanished
This is what the media won't talk about. President Biden had to go above and beyond to deliver Hurricane Beryl aid to Texas after Gov. Greg Abbott vanished.

This Is A President That The MSM Thinks Is Too Old Doing The Job
The state of Texas had ample time to prepare for Hurricane Beryl. The governance of the Lone Star state is frequently held up as an example to the nation of Republican leadership in action.
What happened in Texas needs to be examined on multiple levels because it demonstrates both the job that Biden is doing and the difference between governing that puts the people first and Republican priorities.
In order for states to receive federal natural disaster aid, they must make a formal request to the president before needed relief can be delivered. This is the most basic of formalities. In 99.9% of cases, the request is either made shortly before the natural disaster arrives or immediately after. In the case of something like a hurricane, governors will often request once they know that a storm is about to hit the state. The federal government will already have personnel and aid stage outside of the storm area and will be ready to go as soon as the request is received and approved.
The Biden administration was ready in Texas, but the request never came.
The Houston Chronicle reported:
Biden’s comments came as Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is serving as acting governor while Greg Abbott is on an economic development trip in Asia. The president said in an exclusive interview with the Houston Chronicle that he had been trying to contact the governor to get the necessary requests to release the federal aid, which includes manpower and supplies.
“I've been trying to track down the governor to see — I don't have any authority to do that without a specific request from the governor,” Biden said.
The president said he “kept tracking the lieutenant governor,” but did not connect with Patrick until Tuesday afternoon, when Biden said he would “immediately” approve the declaration. The president did not provide more details on his attempts to connect with Abbott or Patrick.
Millions are still without power, days after a deadly storm to the state. Texas is also trying to clean up in the midst of a heat wave.
The people of Texas were left to struggle and suffer in a critical post-storm period because Biden couldn’t find the governor or acting governor to get a request for aid.
Putting aside the media meltdown over the fact that Joe Biden is 81 years old, I don't know if you are aware, but there is an important conversation to be had about the difference in priorities between the two parties.
