“We Won’t Rest Until Every Veteran Gets The Care And Benefits They Deserve”
Veteran’s Day is being observed today in the United States, which makes this a perfect time to look at some of the ways that the Biden administration is making taking care of our veterans a priority.
Deputy VA Sec. Tanya Bradsher said in a call that PoliticusUSA/The Daily participated in:
We are making all World War Two veterans eligible for no-cost VA health care and nursing home services. We encourage those heroes to enroll now for the care that they so deeply deserve. Second, we’re going to be covering the cost of Parkinson’s care for family members of veterans who served at Camp Lejeune. We want anyone who may be living with this disease or any of the many conditions covered by our family member program to apply for assistance today.
Third, we’re announcing a new graduate medical education program that will fund the salaries of 100 physicians across America, which will expand access to health care for veterans in historically underserved communities. And fourth, today we’re launching a groundbreaking advertising campaign that is designed to reach veterans who have never used VA before. The campaign will use actual cost comparisons to show these veterans that VA can help them stay healthy, go to school, get a job and buy a home, all while saving them tens of thousands of dollars. And hopefully, in doing so it will reach all
those who served and get many of them to apply for the first time. So that’s what we focused on bringing more veterans than ever before to VA so we can keep serving more veterans than ever before at VA and I promise you this, we won’t rest until every veteran gets the care and benefits that they deserve.
To summarize, here are the five main points of emphasis in new actions for vets by the Biden administration:
VA covers cost of Parkinson’s care for family members of Veterans who served at Camp Lejeune.
VA launches advertising campaign to encourage new Veterans to sign up for
health care and benefits.
VA sets all-time records for care and benefits delivered to Veterans in fiscal year 2023.
All WWII Veterans are now eligible for no-cost VA health care and nursing home
services.
VA announces new graduate medical education program to help
expand health care access to Veterans in underserved communities.
The Biden administration has taken action for vets, but it is important that we add context, so let’s take a look back at some of the proposals that the Trump administration made for the nation’s veterans.
