Biden Impeachment Is Based On Lies
Previous presidential impeachments have had a basis in fact. For example, whether you agreed with it or not, Bill Clinton did lie under oath about his affair while in office with Monica Lewinsky. It can be debated whether or not Clinton’s behavior was an impeachable offense, but there is no doubt that the events happened.
Both of Donald Trump’s impeachments were based on fact. Trump did illegally withhold congressionally appropriated funds to attempt to extort Ukraine. Trump also incited the 1/6 attack on the Capitol. These events did happen. Donald Trump and Republicans dispute that they were impeachable offenses, but they did occur.
The attempted impeachment of President Biden is an example of an abuse of House majority power that has never happened in modern US political history.
House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Reo. Jamie Raskin said in a Wednesday morning statement provided to PoliticusUSA and The Daily, “A mountain of evidence and deluge of independent reporting, including from numerous conservative outlets, have discredited every single allegation leveled by Republicans against President Biden in their painstaking and fruitless inquiry—from bogus smears about Ukraine to comical distortions about intrafamily auto payments to desperate and self-debunking cries of obstruction, all proven to be distortions, concoctions, and outright lies.”
There is one lie driving the House Republican push to impeach Biden, and we will talk about it below.
