Biden Issues A Statement About His Son’s Trial
As Donald Trump, who may have gotten more due process than any other defendant in US history continues to complain that he was treated unfairly after being convicted of 34 felonies, President Joe Biden issued a statement about his son being on trial for three counts that are not usually charged.
President Biden said in a statement:
I am the President, but I am also a Dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today,” the statement read. “Hunter’s resilience in the face of adversity and the strength he has brought to his recovery are inspiring to us.
As the President, I don’t and won’t comment on pending federal cases, but as a Dad, I have boundless love for my son, confidence in him, and respect for his strength.
President Biden could have stepped in and halted the investigation into his son Hunter. He could have preemptively pardoned Hunter Biden. Joe Biden could have done all of the things that Donald Trump set a precedent by doing while he was in office to warp the Department of Justice.
Joe Biden is doing none of those things because he is a person of integrity who believes in democracy and the rule of law.
Biden doesn’t deserve a parade for doing what every other president before him, except Trump and Nixon, would have done.
President Joe Biden is doing what presidents are supposed to do in American democracy when these situations arise. Biden is respecting the DOJ's independence and, in the process, strengthening the nation’s democratic institutions.
