Barack And Michelle Obama Disgrace Trump With Powerful Moral Leadership On Minnesota
Former President and First Lady Obama displayed the moral clarity and leadership that the nation sorely needs as Trump's administration is murdering innocent people on American streets.
With a lawless president leading a lawless administration and telling ICE and Border Patrol agents that they have absolute immunity, which they do not, it has created a toxic climate for American liberties and physical danger to the people who live in the cities that Trump’s forces are attacking.
The nation is months away from the midterm election and years away from the next presidential election, and desperately needs moral leaders to step up and denounce what this president and his administration are doing as wrong and antithetical to American values and the principles on which this nation was founded.
Perhaps no other figures in America are more and better suited to provide the moral leadership that is needed than Barack and Michelle Obama.
It is a tradition in the United States that former presidents are considered retired and they do their best to steer clear of politics. However, when something like the killing of Alex Pretti happens, it transcends politics and becomes a national moral issue.
The Obamas have spoken out, and what they said was forceful.
Barack and Michelle Obama released a statement saying:
The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.
Federal law enforcement and immigration agents have a tough job. But Americans expect them to carry out their duties in a lawful, accountable way, and to work with, rather than against, state and local officials to ensure public safety.
That’s not what we’re seeing in Minnesota. In fact, we’re seeing the opposite.
