The midterm election is looking like it could be very bad for the Republican Party. There isn’t much that the Trump administration can do. The administration knows that it can’t stop the election from happening, so Democrats and voting rights advocates have been preparing for a repeat of the post-2020 election period where Donald Trump attempted to overturn the results.

The expectation is that if Democrats don’t blow out Republicans across the country in House and Senate races, the Trump administration is going to try a repeat of the post-2020 election strategy of trying to use the court system to block states from certifying the midterm election.

As the nation learned in 2020, this is much easier said than done.

Trump couldn’t get the DOJ to do his dirty work in 2026, but Trump will have no problem getting his former criminal defense lawyer and current Attorney General, Todd Blanche, to carry out his order.

Remember, Blanche recently said that DOJ independence doesn’t exist and he works for Donald Trump, so you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing on this one.
