Let’s get one thing straight right off the top. Kevin McCarthy agreed to allow a single member to introduce a motion to vacate. When Republicans took over the House majority, they made their own rules, and those rules brought down the Speaker of the House and embarrassed them in front of the entire country.

House Republicans responded to their humiliation by trying to enlist the media to stand with them in blaming Democrats. There is a line of thought that Democrats should have voted to save Kevin McCarthy.
