"Arrested for Evading Motherhood"

A young woman and her father are pulled over and arrested for crossing state lines to access reproductive health care in an imagined version of living under the dystopian rules of a MAGA future as laid out in the conservative agenda playbook of Project 2025.

 

Watch: 

Officer: Driver's license, registration. 

Dad: There you go, sir. How's your day going?  

Officer: That's your daughter?  

Dad: Sure is. 

Officer:  Abigail, right?  

Dad: How do you know her? 

Officer: What are you about eight weeks pregnant?  See, you've been spotting recently.  You've had any, uh, cramps or nausea? 

Abigal: That's personal. 

Officer: You been taking your prenatal vitamins? 

Abigal: Excuse me?

Dad: Are you ticketing me for something? 

Officer: Where you heading, Abigail?  

Abigail: To go see my older sister, Natalie. 

Officer: Well, that's strange.  This says here that Natalie's at a concert in Dallas. And your navigation is set to a women's health clinic in one of those abortion states. 

Abigail: We have the right to travel.  

Officer: Not anymore.  Step out of the car.

Dad: Please, officer. 

Officer: Both of you, out now.

You, sir, are under arrest for crossing state lines to obtain an abortion for a minor under your care.  And you, young lady,  well,  you're under arrest for evading motherhood.

This might seem like an exaggeration, but one need only look at what’s happening in Texas to see that the path is being laid for this exact scenario to take place.

Not only has the ex-president and convicted felon Donald Trump bragged about overturning Roe, many of his former administration put together a playbook that further attacks abortion rights, called Project 2025, aka “Mandate for Leadership”.
