Anti-Trump Protest Erupts in London

People are not happy about Donald Trump getting a second state visit to Britain.
Anti-Trump protesters erupted on Wednesday, chanting "Trump OUT!” “Donald Trump has got to go, hey! hey! Ho! Ho!” and carrying signs reading “Go away! You are polluting Windsor” “Deport Big Orange Predators” “Epstein Files!” “Elect a Rapist, Expect to Get Fucked” “Traitor, Hater, Would be Dictator” and more.
Thousands showed up to protest Trump, according to the BBC:
These protests are a big reason why Trump’s Golden Carriage ride was through private Windsor grounds, where royal experts noted how weird it was to have the procession with no actual people — “totally cut off from reality”:

People in the UK are doing their very best to keep Trump out. They protested his visit to Scotland and then kicked this visit off with the tennis-court size photo of Trump and Epstein on the entrance to Windsor Castle, and then projected huge photos of Trump and Epstein and Andrew and Epstein onto Windsor Castle.
But the British Royal Family doesn’t feel the same way about Mr. Trump, to whom they offered the esteemed privilege of not one, but two full state visits.
“The United Kingdom, known for its pomp and circumstance, reserves one of its highest honors for foreign leaders in the form of a state visit. The late Queen Elizabeth II hosted about 112 state visits in Britain during her reign from 1952 to 2022. While several U.S. presidents have been guests of the royal family, only a few were accorded full state visit honors. American presidents bestowed with the honor include George W. Bush in 2003, Barack Obama in 2011 and Donald Trump in 2019 and 2025,” History.Com tells us.
So they have reserved their highest honor for this man. And given it to him twice.
They have probably done this for the same reasons so many others curry favor with Trump, because he operates like the mafia, but it’s not a great look, especially given the implications about Prince Andrew and Epstein.
The monarchy is at a historic low right now, with The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) releasing new findings from the British Social Attitudes (BSA) survey, showing “Public support for the monarchy falls to historic low while calls for abolition start to rise.”
Support for the monarchy is now at its lowest level since our records began, with more people than ever questioning its future. At the same time, when asked to choose directly, a majority of the public still prefer to keep the monarchy over moving to an elected head of state. This tension, between declining importance and continued preference, will be crucial in shaping debates about the monarchy’s role in the years ahead.”
King Charles III will be eager to show that the monarchy is serving its diplomatic purpose if it can charm/appease Trump into not treating the UK like he treats Canada, but that brings up a sore spot with Canadians who are not all pleased to see their King rolling out the red carpet for the “51 state” president.
As in the U.S., the powers that be seek to wine and dine Trump while the people continue to revolt.
Charles probably hates having to do this. It’s my understanding that he is deeply concerned about climate change. And he can certainly see what a classless buffoon Trump is. He must have some reason for feeling he needs to stroke Trump’s gigantic ego. Being a king isn’t always fun.
How disappointing that the King has stooped to pander to our Felon Mob Boss. The Monarchy is pretty much dying these days, and amoral actions like this will hasten its demise. This is in such contrast to the protestors who are straight on in their messages about Trump. I particularly like the one that says, if my memory has recharged correctly: "Elect a Sexual Abuser and Expect to Get Fucked." Perfectly said...
