American historian and On Tyranny author Timothy Snyder urged Americans to transform the shocking blue tsunami earthquake of the 2026 midterms into a vision that drives systemic reform.
In other words, seize this power and take it the next level.
“Take the victory. Appreciate the victory. Own the victory. Turn the victory into power. Don't worry so much about what they're going to do to you,” Snyder said on social media.
Watch Sarah Jones talk about the midterm victory:
“Worry about what you're going to do to them, or more importantly, think about what you're going to do for them. Think about how you're going to transform this mandate, which comes from all the people who voted for you, but also from all the people who chose not to vote against you. A mandate which is chiefly about ending corruption, ending unfairness, amending which has to do with getting money out of politics, which has to do with bringing down oligarchy, reducing inequality. That's what we're here for.”
Watch here:
Snyder laid out the mandate:
Ending corruption and unfairness within the political system.
Amending processes to remove money from politics.
Dismantling oligarchy and reducing economic inequality.
Snyder urged Americans to transforming victory into actionable power:
Converting the current victory into actionable power.
Shifting focus from defensive postures to proactive service for the people.
Honoring the mandate provided by both voters and those who did not vote against the movement.
Snyder’s argument builds on what I’ve been writing and saying since Monday. This victory is surreal, and it’s all because of YOU. We patriots did this.
Now it’s time to imagine the future we want and to push the people we elected to do better, protect this democracy and voting rights, fix the Supreme Court, do more for the people, clean out the corruption, and protect human rights.
We did this. And we have so much more to do.

It is energizing to think of the possibilities now for the future and the work will be so very valuable!!
When The US has universal health care that will be a sign that it has joined civilization.
