About time the ABA stepped up and spoke out. Trump is waging war on the rule of law.

Unfortunately, he has a long track record extending back for decades of refusing to let legal consequences fall on him by ignoring the verdicts or wearing people down with threats, lies, and counter suits. I believe he truly does believe he is above the law, and only uses laws to get what he wants.

Until our elected officials actually manage to hold him accountable for one damn thing that he doesn't wriggle out of, I fear he is, and with each successive thing he is not held accountable for, he gets bolder than the last.

I have an idea, why don’t we ALL sue HIM. It’s the American way. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

He does have billions, they say. Some of it must be real dollars, somewhere.

Our lawyers could use the cash, I’m sure 😁

Interesting. All the lawsuits could be filed for "pain and suffering." I'm only kinda joking...

I’d be up for it. I have emotionally suffered greatly these past six months and it has definitely affected my quality of life.

Same. But for the last 9 years...

He's seriously traumatizing this nation. He fractured my family. He gives my teenage daughter anxiety attacks.

I will never forgive him or his GOP enablers. Ever.

It should just be a huge class action lawsuit. I have major depression, ptsd and another mood disorder. I can be doing ok and then the Trump administration does something horrible and I sink. Happened the first time and I'm trying to keep it from being as bad this time. Protests help. Doing something helps. I believe he won't make it to the end. Something will happen - impeachment, death from disease, aging, even assassination. Not that I'm advocating for that but it's a definite possibility. He has caused so much pain and chaos. If he were doing this to a person instead of our country he would be charged with a crime.

And FRAUD! The mango menace has systematically defrauded all Americans with his constant lies and gaslighting, ever since his first presidential campaign kicked off TEN years ago today (the monster rode down the infamous golden escalator on June 16, 2015). Let’s file the biggest class-action civil suit in the history of the world. I don’t even want monetary compensation. I just want him charged and found liable. Then the myriad criminal lawsuits can commence.

This may actually be possible...

I'm here for it!

I also want us to have our own Nuremberg trials.

We would only need to prove "standing" for a class action, I *think*, the PTSD alone from all of this in incalculable, but I think we probably COULD at this point. I'm no lawyer, but I DO like the sound of "the people VS Donald J Trump", the lawyer who took this up would be a hero. I think we should try, any lawyers in the house? Is this a thing that's doable?

Chris birds's avatar

I've thought of doing this before. Can we? We could definitely get a lot of signatures!

Idk, I'd be willing to get on board if there were a bold enough attorney to take it up. I mean, it's why he's going after the rule of law itself. At this point though, he's blown through so many laws that turned out not to be laws, I feel like we'd be totally justified in saying, "fuck your 'sitting president' status, you're getting indicted and going to prison anyway, we're not doing 'laws' anymore Don, remember? If it's good enough for us, it's good enough for you, ya fucking pile of shit." Fuck this asshole, I'm so tired of him getting away with shit, SOMEONE needs to drop the hammer on him, sooner the better, preferably before he croaks.

Bravo ABA! This is a much needed action to hold the line against a group of people who seem, by their actions and words, intent on subverting and undermining the rule of law in America, without which, the country would lost, crippled to such an extent that it mght never recover. Everyone must be held accountable to law and the weight of legal precedent. If not, chaos will ensue..

It's easy to see Trump's intimidation tactics and I'm glad to see the ABA suing this creep. But proving it is a different ball game. And even if the ABA wins, Trump will appeal it all the way to the Supreme Court where most of the Federalist members will laugh their asses off before they issue a 6 - 3 ruling against (but for) attorney intimidation.
