Marjorie Taylor Greene And The Fringe Of The Republican Party

Here is how Politico’s Jonathan Lemire described the elevation of Greene to key House committees on Friday morning’s Morning Joe:

“The White House thought this all along. If the Republicans take the House and they did narrowly, Kevin McCarthy will have a hard time keeping it under control.  We have seen that. Secondly an elevation of the fringe characters. And those are the people that the White House is warning as real threats to democracy. They think that's true and will make the threats but think that the lawmakers are not able to resist overstepping.”

The White House and the media may think that House Republicans like Greene are the fringe of the Republican Party, but pushing this belief is denying the reality that Rep. Greene is the mainstream of the GOP.
