The Great Aileen Cannon Hijacking

Judge Aileen Cannon decided that right after someone opened fire at Donald Trump’s rally on the same day that the Republican convention was starting would be a perfect time for her to issue an order throwing out the classified documents case against Donald Trump because she contended that Jack Smith’s appointment as special counsel was unconstitutional.

Cannon got this idea from Clarence Thomas’s opinion in the Trump immunity case because it seems like every element of comservative justice system corruption will eventually lead back to Justice Clarence Thomas.

Legal experts immediately and correctly pointed out that Cannon had no precedent or evidence to support her order. She just decided it, so she wrote it down, and there we are.

Everyone was expecting this move from Judge Cannon at some point. The only surprise was that she chose to release her order on Monday, less than two days after a Republican tried to shoot Donald Trump.

The news cycle since Saturday evening had been dominated by corporate media doing everything in their power to try to generate sympathy for Trump.

Trump finally had what he always wanted. He was dominating the news coverage 24/7 right before the start of the Republican convention, but then Aileen Cannon came along and changed the subject.

Cannon probably believed that she was being a good Trump operative, and bailing the ex-president out right before the start of the Republican convention must have seemed like perfect timing to her.

The timing could not have been worse, but Judge Cannon unleashed a slew of problems for the Republican Party and herself.
