Adam Schiff Blows The Lid Off Of Trump's Scheme To Rig The Midterms
Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) discussed how he expects Trump to try to interfere in the midterm election and what the American people can do about it.
Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has always seemingly been one step ahead of Donald Trump. Schiff was ahead of Trump when he led the first impeachment and Senate trial of the president.
Schiff has been very vocal about Trump’s lawlessness and corruption, explaining to the American people how Trump’s warping of the executive branch presents a threat to democracy.

Donald Trump has been meddling in the 2026 midterm election for months. He has been discrediting the election process. The president tried to gerrymander the House map to ensure that Republicans maintain their majority, and his latest effort involves trying to get Congress to massive voter suppression law.
On ABC’s This Week, Schiff said that Trump is making his intention of interfering in the midterm election clear.
Sen. Schiff said:
I think he’ll -- intends to try to subvert the elections. He will do everything he can to suppress the vote. And if he loses the vote, and I think the Republicans now expect they’ll get a real drubbing in the midterms, he’s prepared to try to take some kind of action to overturn the result.
And we really shouldn’t question that. We saw him try to the point of insurrection to overturn the 2020 election. We see him now taking these extraordinary steps with an election now years ago.
He’s basically telling us he intends to interfere in this coming -- upcoming election. He hasn’t brought prices down. There’s chaos and killing in American streets by ICE agents.
The public has turned against him. In every election we’ve had since his election, the voters have swung wildly against him. And as you know, he said at that prayer breakfast, his ego cannot stand another loss.
So, we have to prepare for the worst. We have to prepare in every way we can.
The first order of business is to make sure that Democrats kill the SAVE Act, but as we will talk about below, there is a second phase to Trump’s plan.
