As a British citizen I am simply astonished that America has reached such a low point in its history. You were once the leading light of Freedom and Democracy; how has it come to this?

Bigotry, stupidity & cowardice. There’s more to it ofc, but I think that’s pretty much what it all boils down to

And stolen elections, starting with Dubya in 2000. America has been on a downward slide to authoritarianism ever since.

I’d go back even further to Reagan, he really got the ball rolling. But at the end of the day, the GOP is made up of the same kind of people who chose to secede from the Union so they could keep enslaving other human beings. The more things change, the more they stay the same :(

Kim, of course you are right. I will never forget how Ronnie screwed my idol, Jimmy Carter, out of his second term. I was 21 and Jimmy was my first presidential vote. Election night 1980 was a soul-crusher. 45 years of this shit - I am sick of it. 🤬

America hadn’t really changed all that much since the slave trade. Today bigotry is more sophisticated. Run by government. And has people trained to immediately scream it doesn’t exist. And when you look at what came before that you get an idea of what America is. Good people standing by bad people for a common goal of superiority and nationalism. I doubt that will ever change. It’s 2025. Look at this nation.

Senator Schiff I respect you. But please hear this, your colleagues on the other side will not stand up for the Constitution or our democracy. They are all in with project 2025. I beg you to stop with the naivete that is keeping my Democratic Party from fighting back with all the gusto that it needs to fight with. Governor Gavin Newsome should be the model for the Democratic Playbook to save our country.

Remember, Trump’s tutor was Roy Cohn, Red Scare lawyer and advisor to Senator Joseph McCarthy. This model’s, in many ways the paranoia created about the “red/commie “ infestation of America. How strange that our current Republican leadership is in bed with the very Reds they attempted to root out of our country by harassing innocent citizens. Sen Schiff is right.

We are all going to have to band together and vote every Republican out of Congress. There will be no skipping to go out and vote! Some countries fine people for not voting. Maybe that should be something that we do. If all of the people who sat out the 2024 election had voted, we would have won. This mess is on them as well as those who voted for trump.

I'm starting to look for property in another country. The longer The Convict is in the white house, even part-time, the further down the crapper this country will go. Just wait. Martial Law will be here soon enough. He ignited violence in a peaceful demonstration in L.A. He's illegally called in the National Guard, and now the Marines with, the news said tonight, live ammo. Can anyone say Kent State? Pictures of supposed ICE agents all masked up, armed to the teeth, nothing to identify them as ICE, taking people from their homes. Gestapo. The end of this country is coming. It will end in a Civil War. Who wins depends on whether the members of the military follow the oath they took, or are duped into siding with a criminal enterprise,
