A Very Hopeful Merry Christmas To You
Christmas is known as a time of peace and love but before we head into what could be a turbulent 2025, let's embrace hope.
Everything was fuzzy. That is how it was each winter morning growing up in Southwestern Pennsylvania, looking out the window covered in plastic. There was lots of white because it had been snowing seemingly since Halloween. Our street had not been plowed, yet my anticipation grew because as I rolled over in the bottom bunk, it was Christmas. Dad’s car was gone, which could only mean one thing: he was picking up Grandma.
My sister in the top bunk had been up since roughly December 22. In a few years, she would begin her personal tradition of waking up everyone in the house by running into their bedrooms and screaming Merry Christmas while jumping on their beds.
