A Texas Trump Supporter Gets A Big Helping Of FAFO

“One of the most conservative guys you’ll ever meet” voted for a 34-count convicted felon thinking Trump would focus on deporting bad guys, not friends and neighbors. He thought he would get the deportation of violent criminals, but instead his town has been all but destroyed by the mass deportation of immigrants.

But Trump promised mass deportations, whereas Biden, Obama and Harris prioritized deporting violent criminals.

Neal Secor describes himself as “one of the most conservative guys you’ll ever meet,” according to a long form piece about the immigration raids in a small Texas town of Ingram by ProPublica published in NYT Magazine.

Secor was complaining to the mayor, who was his one-time high school classmate, about the immigration raids in the small Texas town of Ingram, when Secor says the mayor’s defense “was simple: You voted for this. They’d all voted for this.”

“Let me tell you something,” Secor says he told the mayor. “I didn’t vote for this. I voted to get the bad guys out.” Reacting to the detaining of two employees he described as being like family for over a decade, he added, “There’s still a lot of bad guys here. These guys aren’t them.”

The problem with this line of thought is that Trump actually pledged to deport millions of undocumented immigrants living in the United States during his 2024 campaign.

Trump also promised to immediately terminate Biden-era humanitarian policies. Humanitarian policies cost money, and they also take time. Trump has no use for them.

But it seems as if many Trump supporters only heard the parts they agreed with, like Trump vowing to invoke the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act to target alleged cartel and gang networks, expand expedited removals, and increase federal detention capacity.

Maybe they only heard the cartel and gang part? But even there, Trump has failed.

Not only have many of the noncitizens deported pursuant to the Alien Enemies Act not have criminal records, but the Trump administration has been accused of letting cartel/gang members return to their home country without prosecution.

Additionally, the Trump administration allowed 17 family members of Mexican cartel leaders to enter the United States, according to officials in Mexico.
