I think the protests against Trump in small-town America are wonderful and I hope they just keep getting bigger and bigger. We will WIN!!!

They MUST lose Judy. We cannot let America go down the Rat hole of Fascism. It terrifies me that such an evil being had the nuclear codes. That keeps me awake at night!😢

Don’t be afraid, be outraged & keep being outraged! Dictators & bullies like to instill in their people; but once the people show no fear they cower as they are the ones that are weak & afraid ! Stand up to bullies!

I agree Sharon. I sometimes feel terrified myself but I am buoyed up by the response of everyday Americans who feel the same way and I feel that we will triumph over the evil Trump and his administration who are in power. I just don’t know how long it will take. ❣️

Have you been reading about “Techno-Fascism”?

Elon Musk (et al) are implementing the steps prescribed in Curtis Yarvin’s “Dark Enlightenment” end game. (Which I believe we should start calling simply “ Dark MAGA”) —

Here’s a “Paul Revere” video someone made, sounding the alarm about the shadow agenda of Trump and Musk and DOGE:

Why were voters not paying attention to his poor performance of the past, convicted felon with no concern for anyone other than himself! History will remember him as America’s worst president!

Voters were angry about the economy, and they did not want Biden or Trump, so a lot of them tuned out. It was easier to make up their mind in June, which is what a lot of voters did after the first debate, than to pay attention. The lack of attention got them Trump.---Jason

What people can’t get into their heads is that inflation and struggling economies were worldwide from Covid. It wasn’t just a US issue. The US actually did the best in recovery under President Biden. Trump had ignored it and downplayed it and because of that killed so many people. He did his usual repeat repeat repeat and lie like the narcissist he is to blame President Biden.

You are exactly right. I hear the following quite often, ‘ I don’t do politics’, which means no knowledge is sought! The day we are born and receive a Social Security number makes one part of the political world! One can opt out, winding up with a felon making deals with felons in other countries or one can choose to participate!

I was able to attend two protests today. It is somewhat of a cathartic experience. Even the people driving by were enthused and happy to see us.

I am always willing to forgive and move on, but it’s hard to feel bad for anyone who voted for the monster and now realizes they were conned. As Dylan said, take the rag away from your face, now ain’t the time for your tears. On the other hand, this is heartening!

I think a lor of people are getting a tough lesson in the downside of believing "it doesn't matter who I vote for. It will be fine." Things are definitely not fine.---Jason

He’s America’s worst President by a country mile. Everything he thinks, touches, speaks turns to s**t. He’s spectacular at one thing though, being a loser.

People are coming around belatedly to that understanding as you can’t bamboozle the good people of America.

We’ll get through this because, despite our differences, the core principles of liberty, integrity, honor know no party affiliation.

Remember that and act accordingly.

Trump and his ilk are going down.

We must continue to protest, but my biggest worry now is the rat bastard fascist will invoke the Insurrection Act, like soon. Tomorrow or Monday when drunk Hegseth and Kristi cosplayer Noam and the rest of the shitweasels release some report about the border. I'm hoping not, however, be prepared and continue to stand up!

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, so people need to chill on the Insurrection Act fears, which by the way have been around at least for the last quarter century.----Jason

I did my homework prior to the election. I knew who Donald Trump was, a selfish, cruel monster who doesn't care about the people of the United States, sustaining and growing our Constitutional Democracy, so I will go to my grave not understanding how this MONSTER and MOBSTER became President of the US!

I read about him for years too and the fact that he’s part of Project 2025 to destroy our democracy and replace it with a white supremacist Christian nationalist techno-driven autocracy. So here we are…

Yes. I can’t bring myself to read about Dark Enlightenment. It’s way out there. AI/Silicon Valley’s Yarvin and Peter Thiel are major players in P2025 as you probably know. Yarvin is one scary creepy guy. Thiel was Vance’s mentor and Vance is who Thiel ultimately wants as President. Vance is the dictator in waiting. He’s pretty scary himself.

His voters have extremely short memories. Before they voted they should’ve asked themselves, did he keep any of his promises in his first term? No he did not. Plus he lied every time he opened his mouth. How could they fall for his lies again. Like I’ll end the Ukraine war in my first 24 hours or I’ll low grocery prices on day one. Prices have tripled since he took office on January 20.

Louise Champagne's avatar

He is distracting them from those issues and those promises by continuously feeding them new “red meat” (fears; enemies) and making daily press briefings and executive signings — dramatic videos of the gang members being abducted and imprisoned in El Salvador etc. —

Notice that he never touts the actual numbers of undocumented immigrants that he is legally deporting? Because they have also been failing with his pledge of mass deportations. Not even deporting more people than Biden! “But look over here! We’re sending a plane load of ‘monsters’ to this far away maximum security, black hole prison. Saving you from these people Biden let in who were terrorizing your community!”

Etc. Ditto with trans athletes, DEI, USAID funds for drag shows in Honduras (or wherever.

Then also new targets for their attention; new goals he’s working to achieve to “MAGA”: Panama, Greenland, Houthi’s…

Never ending new distractions and new made-for-tv “success stories.”

We grew up pledging allegiance to the flag every day in school. Every day we said, “with liberty and justice for all.” We still mean it. We learned that three coequal parts of government gave us checks and balances to make sure everything was fair in the greatest country in the world. We aren’t done yet but we had to go through some big struggles to make that happen. We can do it again. We have to. We were born for this moment. We will do it again.
