As Republicans vote to pass Donald Trump's very unpopular bill, the president's approval rating has taken a dive among his Republican base.

Republicans voting for Donald Trump’s very unpopular bill might not be pleased to see that the president’s approval rating among his own supporters has taken a hit, falling from 86% approval rating with only 13% disapproving, to in June 79% approving with 19% disapproving.
“President Donald Trump's approval rating has taken a sharp dive, marking a significant shift with his own Republican base,” Newsweek reported Thursday, July 3rd as Republicans push Trump’s historically unpopular bill uphill.
“The latest Overton Insights/Targoz Market Research poll, conducted between June 23 and 26 among 1,200 registered voters, shows a notable decline. In June, Trump's approval stood at 79 percent with 19 percent disapproving, yielding a net approval of +60. This marks a drop from March, when his approval rating was higher at 86 percent, with only 13 percent disapproving, resulting in a net approval of +73.
Both polls had a margin of error of +/- 2.7 percentage points.”
They say this could signal a “growing dissatisfaction within the party's core supporters, which could weaken his influence over the GOP's direction and strategy. As the 2026 midterm elections approach, a faltering base could impact candidate endorsements, voter turnout, and overall party unity.”
So even Newsweek sees this as a “sharp dive” that could signal growing dissatisfaction from Trump’s own base, which backs up my own reporting and observations from inside deep within Trump country.
This poll corroborates previous polling showing a drop in support for Trump among Republicans.
Donald Trump is still reportedly saying it’s political death to touch Medicaid, as he threatens and strong-arms Republican lawmakers to do just that — and they are doing it.
Trump reportedly does not “know” that his own bill “touches” Medicaid. This could be a lie to protect him, or it could signal a five alarm fire about his cognitive abilities. But you can bet on the fact that the media will not be concerned about why the president ostensibly doesn’t even know what’s in the bill he’s so maniacally pushing.
Donald Trump is losing popularity even among his party faithful. People are out making history in the streets with peaceful protests against this president. Red states and rural hospitals will suffer due to this bill.
And still, the party lemmings are lining up to sacrifice themselves for Donald Trump.
Of course 2026 is a long way off in one sense, but in another Trump is not making new supporters. Everything he’s doing, including the immigration raids that will increase in ferocity and intensity if this bill passes, is unpopular among enough of his own supporters to make the argument that he is not earning new support.
2026 is looming large for Republicans, who are already facing an uphill battle in 2026 House races if history is anything to go on.

And it also displays the cognitive ability of the House and Senate Leadership and Republican Members.
Doesn't mean a whole lot as far as I'm concerned. Too many of them are like Sen. Murkowski and chicken out at the last minute to support whatever their dear deranged leader wants. To heck with the consequences. Murderers all who vote yes on this ugly bill.
